Nagpur Test: India takes a lead of 86 runs in first innings
The Australian batsmen could not make use of the good start they received yesterday and conceded a crucial 86-run lead to India in the first innings. The Australian batsmen went on defensive and allowed the Indian batsmen to attack them. The run rate was very slow, not a typical Australian batting style, which has been aggressive. Australia bowled out for 355 in reply to India's 441.
Simon Katich scored a brilliant century, but Hussey fell short by 1o runs. Katich made 102, while Hussey scored 90. Cameroon White and Brad Haddin scored 46 and 28 respectively. For India, Harbhajan took 3 wickets, while Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra took 2 wickets each. India batted just one over before the end of third day's play and made no runs without losing any wicket.
