India win Nagpur Test to bag Test Series against Australia 2-0

Breaking News! Sourav Ganguly's legacy in test cricket finally came to an end in style, as India won the fourth and final test at Nagpur by 172 runs and the series against Australia 2-0. India won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after 5 years by establishing their supremacy over Australia in test cricket. In a rare honour to Sourav Ganguly, skipper MS Dhoni handed over the captaincy to him at the last moment. Ganguly led India's final assault against the Kangaroos.

It was a great pleasure to see Ganguly leading Team India after a long time. earlier, when Ganguly entered the field on Day 5, the entire Indian team gave a guard-of-honour to him and followed him like soldiers. He left the field on the shoulders of his teammates after India's historic win over Australia.

Chasing a victory target of 382, Australia bowled out for just 209 runs. Hayden was the top scorer with 78, while Clarke made 22. Cameroon White remained unbeaten on 26. For India, Amit Mishra took 3 wickets, while Harbhajan Singh took 4 wickets. Ishant Sharma bagged two wickets.

Jason Krejza won the "Man of the Match" award for his 12 wickets on debut. Ishant Sharma won the "Man of the Series" award for picking up 15 wickets in the series. He won a Toyota Corolla car. Both Anil Kumble and MS Dhoni received the Border-Gavaskar Trophy from legends Alan Border and Sunil Gavaskar. With this series win, India now occupied the No.2 spot in the ICC Test Rankings.
