3rd Test Match between India and Australia ends in Draw

The draw in Kotla Test was inevitable, but Anil Kumble's retirement from cricket, came as a shock and surprise for all. Kumle could not finish his career on a winning note, but he should not have any qualms. He gave everything to cricket in those 18 years.

The third test match between India and Australia at Feroz Shah Kotla, ended in a draw. India declared the second innings at 208/5. Gambhir scored 36, while Sachin made 47. Laxman and Ganguly remained unbeaten on 59 and 32 respectively. For Australia, Brett Lee took 2 wickets.

Australia needed 245 runs to win the match, but they did not have enough time or overs to go for a win. The Kangaroos finished at 31/0 in 8 overs. Kumble bowled 4 overs in his last test innings and finished with a figure of 4-0-14-0. Kumble's last ball in test cricket was driven for a boundary by Matthew Hayden. VVS Laxman was declared "Man of the Match". India now leads the test series 1-0. The fourth test match will be held in Nagpur on November 06.
