Pakistan beat Bangladesh in Tri-Series Opener

Pakistan beat Bangaldesh by 70 runs in a rain-interrupted tri-series match at Mirpur. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first. The match was curtailed to 40 overs because of heavy rain. Pakistan bowled out for 233 in 39.3 overs. Salman Butt was the top scorer with 70. Mohammad Yousuf scored 59, while Misbah made 39. For Bangladesh, Abdur Razzak took 3 wickets.

The target turned out to be huge for Bangladesh, as they could manage only 163/8 in 40 overs. Ashraful was the top scorer, as he remained unbeaten on 56. Tamim Iqbal scored 29. For Pakistan, Wahab Riaz and Shahid Afridi took 3 wickets each. Salman Butt was declared "Man of the Match".
