India avenge Tri-Series loss, beat Pakistan in Karachi

The victory target was 300 for India, but they achieved it in just 42.1 overs. Incredible, but true! India avenged their tri-series defeat to Pakistan by beating the Pak side on their own soil. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. They piled up 299/4 in 50 overs. Shoaib Mailk was the top scorer with 125. He was retired hurt. Other top contributors were Salman Butt (35), Younus Khan (59), M Yousuf (30) and Misbah (31*).

India lost Gambhir early, but Sehwag and Raina continued where they left in the match against Hong Kong. Raina, who had scored his maiden ton against Hong Kong, made 84. Sehwag, who had scored 78 against Hong Kong, went on to score his 9th ODI century. He made 119 off just 95 balls. Yuvraj Singh scored 48, while Dhoni remained unbeaten on 26. India reached the target with 7.5 overs to spare. For Pakistan, Rao Iftikhar took 2 wickets. Suresh Raina was declared "Man of the Match".
