Sachin Tendulkar unhappy with Third Umpire, Suresh Shastri defends himself
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar expressed his unhappiness over the performance of the third umpire after Mumbai Indians went down to Kings XI Punjab by 1 run yesterday. The umpire in question is Suresh Shastri. He ruled Kings XI batsman Luke Pomersbach not out when he looked short of his ground against a direct throw from Shaun Pollock. The third umpire wasn't convinced that the ball knocked off the bails. Pomersbach went on to score an unbeaten 79.Another controversial decision was given during Mumbai Indians' innings. Dwayne Smith was given out, when it looked like he made it the crease. It was certainly a dubious decision. Smith was batting with aggression, when he was given out. Even the run-out decision against Chitnis in the last over looked controversial. Meanwhile, third umpire Suresh Shastri defended himself, saying he acted as per the ICC law 28.1.
