Sensational win for Rajasthan Royals over Mumbai Indians, Delhi DareDevils reach Semifinals
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to field first. Mumbai Indians could manage 145/7 in 20 overs. The slowness of the wicket did not allow the batsmen to play their natural shots. They crossed 140-mark, thanks to the 25 runs conceded by Shane Watson in the final over. For Mumbai Indians, Jayasuriya scored 38, while Tendulkar made 30. Nayar scored 25. Takawale contributed an unbeaten 24 off 8 balls. For Rajasthan Royals, Tanvir took 4 wickets, while Trivedi took 2 wickets.
The victory target of 146 was not easy for Rajasthan Royals on this slow wicket. They lost five wickets with less than 80 runs on board. However, Neeraj Patel and R Jadeja took the game away from Mumbai Indians. Rajasthan Royals needed 32 runs from the last two overs. Both the batsmen held their nerves and ensured a 5-wicket win on the last ball. The Mumbai Indians were themselves to blame, as they failed to complete a win, despite having a clear advantage. Patel remained unbeaten on 40, while Jadeja scored an unbeaten 23. For Mumbai Indians, Fernando took 2 wickets. Tanvir was declared "Man of the Match".
