It was an easy victory for Rajasthan Royals, as they beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 45 runs in an IPL match. With Shoaib Akhtar banned from playing and Ponting and McCullum left for home, Kolkata Knight Riders proved to be no match for Shane Warne's Royals. Electing to bat, Rajasthan Royals made 196/7 in 20 overs. Asnodkar scored 60, while Yusuf Pathan made 55. R Jadeja contributed 33. For Knight Riders, Umar Gul took 3 wickets.

In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders fought when Ganguly and D Hussey were in the middle. Once they departed, the team gave in and bundled out for 151 in 20 overs. Ganguly scored 51, while Hussey scored 42. For Rajasthan Royals, Watson, Trivedi and Tanvir took 2 wickets each. Rajasthan Royals had started their IPL campaign on a disastrous note by losing the first match. But now they have won all their next four matches.
