Kings XI Punjab beat Kolkata Knight Riders in a Thriller

Irfan Pathan and S Sressanth produced great bowling display to help Kings XI Punjab score a narrow 9-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in a crucial IPL match. It was the fourth successive loss for the Knight Riders. King XI Punjab put up 178/6 in 20 overs. Shaun Marsh scored 40 off 32 balls. Sangakkara scored 28, while Irfan Pathan remained unbeaten on 24. Chawla too remained not out on 21 off 7 balls. For Knight Riders, Gul took 2 wickets.

In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders kept losing wickets very fast and were 50/5 at one stage. David Hussey and Prashant Saha fought well, but that was not enough. The Knight Riders managed to score 168/6 in 20 overs. Hussey scored 71, while Prashant Saha remained unbeaten on 59. For Kings XI, Sreesanth and Pathan took 2 wickets each. Irfan Pathan was declared 'Man of the Match'.
