Kings XI Punjab beat Deccan Chargers in inconsequential match

The outcome of this match was not expected to change any permutations and combinations. While the Kings XI Punjab had already reached the semi-finals, the Deccan Chargers were out of the race. However, they played with determination and it turned out to be a good contest, though Kings XI Punjab yet again proved that they are a better side.

Kings XI won the toss and asked Deccan Charger to bat first. The Deccan Chargers put up 175/4 in 20 overs. Gilchrist and Rohit Sharma scored 50 each, while Gibbs made 44. Silva remained unbeaten on 23. Kings XI had it easy while chasing the score. Openers Shaun Marsh and Sangakkara put up 84 runs for the first wicket. Marsh scored 60, while Sangakkara made 50. Kings XI reached the target with 3 balls to spare. They won the match by 6 wickets. For Deccan Chargers, Ojha took 2 wickets.
