Row over Syringes found in Shoaib's Bag in Pakistan, BCCI to conduct dope test on IPL Players
The BCCI has woken up the reports of use of drugs by some cricket players, currently playing in the IPL. IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi announced that random dope tests will be conducted on players. The decision came in the wake reports published in Pakistani newspaper 'Nation' that Shoaib Akhtar was questioned about a dozens of empty syringes found in his baggage prior to leaving for Mumbai at the Karachi airport.Shoaib Akhtar apparently clarified that he was a diabetic and carry the syringes to take insulin. The Pakistan Cricket Board has played down the incident and ruled out taking any action against the fast bowler. The Kolkata Kinght Riders, fumed over the reports, is considering legal action against the Pakistani Media.
