IPL Teams donates Rs. 6 Crore ($1.5 million) for Jaipur Blast Victims
In a noble gesture, the eight franchisee owners and sponsors of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have donated Rs. 6 crore ($1.5 million) to the Rajasthan CM's relief fund, which will be spent for the relief and rehabilitation of Jaipur blast victims.The cheque was handed over by IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi to Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje Scindia during the IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. While the franchises have donated Rs 50 lakh each, the five sponsors DLF Ltd, Vodafone, Citibank, Kingfisher and Hero Honda have contributed Rs.40 lakh each.
