Selectors announced a 16-member Squad for Kanpur Test
Under pressure after Team India suffered a humiliating against South Africa at Motera, Indian selectors announced a 16-member team for the third and final test match to be played at Kanpur. In an interesting move, they included Romesh Powar and Munaf Patel in the team, while dropped R P Singh. Ishant Sharma is likely to play, as he has been declared fit.
In all probability, S Sreesanth won't be playing the Kanpur test. Both R P Singh and Kanpur disappointed the team management with their lacklustre bowling performance. Although Irfan Pathan was no better, he did well with the bat. India is likely to go with Yuvraj or Kaif into the third test. Pathan can still retain his place.
Team:
Anil Kumble (c), Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Wasim Jaffer, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, M S Dhoni, Ishant Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, Piyush Chawla, Romesh Powar, S Sreesanth and Munaf Patel.
