Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians failed to deliver in the absence of skipper Sachin Tendulkar, who opted out of the game due to groin injury. The Royal Challengers Bangalore, after dismal performance against Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening match, came back strongly to register a comprehensive 5 wicket win over the Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. The team scored 165/6 in 20 overs. Robin Utthappa made 48, while Jayasuriya and Pollock contributed 29 and 28 respectively. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Royal Challengers rode high on a valuable 55-run fifth wicket partnership between Boucher and Kallis and reached the target with 2 balls to spare. Boucher remained unbeaten on 39. Dravid scored 32, while Kallis contributed 25.
