Second IPL Auction: 14 new Foreign Players and 14 U-19 Cricketers auctioned

The second IPL Auction in Mumbai did not generate much curiosity like it did during the first one. However, enthusiasm was still there. Eighteen foreign players and a number of Indian U-19 cricket players were sold off in the second IPL Auction today.

James Hopes of Australia got the highest bid with $300,000 (Rs. 1.2 crore). He was bought by Mohali. Mumbai bought Ashwell Prince of South Africa for $175,000 (Rs. 0.7 crore). All U-19 cricketers who have played Ranji Trophy would be paid $50,000 (Rs. 20 lakh) each, while others would get $30,000 (Rs. 12 lakh) each. There were no takers for Pakistan's Mohammad Yousuf, who will be paid his base price of $330,000 by the IPL.
