Praveen Kumar gets "Kanshi Ram Khel Ratna" Award

Even as the victorious cricketers are yet to return home, awards and rewards are pouring in for them from several quarters. Uttar Pradesh CM Mayawati has announced to confer the newly instituted "Kanshi Ram Khel Ratna" award on fast bowler Praveen Kumar, who helped India to win the CB Tri-series trophy with his superb bowling performance. The award carries a prize money of Rs. 10 lakh.

In addition, Mayawati has announced a cash reward of Rs. 5 lakh each for two members of Indian U-19 cricket team - Tanmay Srivastav and Iqbal Abdullah. They played significant role in India's World Cup victory.
