Indian Colts win U-19 World Cup

The dream finally came true. The invincible U-19 Indian cricket team held on to their nerves to beat South Africa in a rain-interrupted final in Kuala Lumpur to win the World Cup title. Chasing a victory target of 160, South Africa were 17/3 when rain halted play. When the match resumed, the target was revised to 116 from 25 overs. But on a slow batting track, South Africa could score only 103/8 in 25 overs and lost the final by 12 runs under D/L method.

The young Indian cricket team brought glory to millions of cricket fans in the country. It was a double bonanza for the cricket fans, as senior players had already won the 1st final against Australia in Sydney earlier in the day.

President Pratibha Patil, PM Dr. Manmohan Singh, BCCI President Sharad Pawar and many other eminent leaders have congratulated Indian U-19 team for wining the World Cup. The BCCI has announced a cash reward of Rs. 15 lakh each to all players of victorious Under-19 cricket team. The nation congratulates its heroes! Well done boys!
