Harbhajan in fresh trouble over alleged 'monkey gesture' towards Crowd
--By Sagar, Satapathy, Editor-in-ChiefKangaroos beaten, but not ready to digest the loss. Although the cricketers remained silent licking their wounds after a humiliating loss against the rejuvenated Indians, the Australia media yet again targeted India's ace spinner Harbhajan singh, who played an important role by removing Symonds and Hayden at a crucial stage, when they looked solid. Harbhajan finds himself in fresh controversy, as the Australia media reported him making 'monkey gestures' towards the cricket fans at the SCG.
Harbhajan reportedly motioned as if to scratch his armpits with both hands in the same manner Indian fans in Mumbai allegedly did to taunt Andrew Symonds last year. According to Sydney Morning Herald, Harbhajan repeated the gesture with one hand later, which was captured in camera by the newspaper (picture could be seen above).
Other Australian newspapers reported that Harbhajan spat towards the crowd repeatedly, when they call him "a wanker". After the "racism" controversy during the Sydney test, Australian cricket fans have been continuously targeting Harbhajan whenever he bowl, bat or field. He is subjected to immense harassment, which is certainly ignored by the Australian media and Cricket Australia.
According to media sources, match referee is currently investigating the matter and if found guilty, Harbhajan would be charged under Section 3.3. The Indian team management reacted strongly to these allegations and saw it as a further attempt to unsettle Harbhajan. Even legendary Australian cricketer Alan Border has supported Harbhajan Singh, saying he is unnecessarily targeted. He praised Harbhajan for his behaviour when he was baited by sections of the SCG crowd.
