Gavaskar to explain his dual role in ICC and Media at an ICC Meeting
The ICC has refuted the media claims that Suni Gavaskar was asked to step down as the Chairman of the ICC's Cricket Committee. Gavaskar had a meeting with ICC Chief Executive Malcolm Speed in Dubai yesterday. He has agreed to explain how he can combine roles as an ICC official and a media analyst at an ICC meeting.According to ICC sources, Gavaskar will chair the upcoming meeting of the Cricket Committee on May 5 and 6. The ICC will review the matter at its next meeting, to be held from June 29 - July 4. It is certain that Gavaskar will be under scanner until that meeting. Recently, Gavaskar has created uproar, by calling England and Australia "Dinosaurs" of world cricket. He also made some controversial remarks against Australian cricketers, Umpires and Match Referee on the racism row involving Harbhajan and Symonds.
