Update from Brisbane: India fights back

The Indian batsmen fought back to stay in the game. A solid fifth wicket partnership between Gautam Gambhir and M S Dhoni helped India to recover from a precarious 83/4. Gambhir scored his half century in style. He hit a boundary and a six in a Muralitharan over.

Dhoni too scored his half century with a brilliant six off Jayasuriya. India were 215/4 in 45 overs when reports last came in. Gambhir was batting on 77, while Dhoni was batting on 62.
