Rain plays spoilsport again, ODI between India and Sri Lanka abandoned

The much-awaited Commonwealth Bank tri-series began on a disappointment note, as the first two matches of the series were abandoned due to rain. And, venue was same on both occasions. Heavy downpour started as soon as India finished their 50 overs at 267/4. Not a single ball could be bowled in Sri Lanka's innings and umpires had to call of the play. Both India and Sri Lanka shared two points each.

India's Rohit Sharma had a bad day, as he was fined 10 percent of his match fee for showing dissent. Sharma could not believe his eyes and expressed disappointment when he was wrongly adjudged caught behind. However, that was enough for the match referre to charge him under ICC Code of Conduct 1.3.
