Lankan Tigers roar at Kangaroos, but it was too late

Sri Lankan players at last regained the momentum and produced a brilliant all-round display to steal a thrilling 13-run victory over Australia, but it was too late, as their victory meant nothing. Both India and Australia have already reached the finals of the CB tri-series that begin on Sunday.
Chasing a victory target of 222 to win, Australia were on target with 107/0, thanks to Adam Gilchrist's 83 off 50 balls. But a dramatic batting collapse forced the Kangaroos to back foot. At one stage, the Aussies were 115/5 and then 123/6. Finally, the team bowled out for 208 in 48.1 overs. Besides Gilchrist, Brett Lee scored a fighting 37. Amerasinghe took 3 wickets.
