The Great IPL Auction: Cricketers sold out
The much-hyped IPL (Indian Premier League) auction for cricketers, began on a high note. Some promient players from India and abroad have been sold out to respective teams for a high amount. Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni leads the pack, as he was bought by Chennai for $1.5 million (Rs. 6 crore). Sanat Jayasuriya - Mumbai - $975,000 (Rs 3.9 crore)
Kumara Sangakara - Mohali - $700,000 (Rs. 2.8 crore)
Harbhajan Singh - Mumbai - $850,000 (Rs. 3.4 crore)
Anil Kumble - Bangalore - $500,000 (Rs. 2 crore)
Mahela Jayawardene - Mohali - $4,75,000 (Rs. 1.9 crore)
Shaoib Akhtar - Kolkata - $425,000 (Rs. 1.7 crore)
Muttiah Muralaithatan - Chennai - $600,000 (Rs. 2.4 crore)
Adam Gilchrist - Hyderabad - $700,000 (Rs. 2.8 crore)

Being a dweller of Kolkata and a fan of both Saurabh & Shahrukh, I am much disheartened to know that our team has done a unwise investment by taking Shoaib, a good for nothing junk.
