Gilchrist - The Walker, did it again
Adam Gilchrist, known as "The Walker" in the cricketing circle, did it again at Brisbane. No cricket player other than Gilchrist can take high moral grounds for upholding the sportsmanship in the game. Gilchrist edged a Sreesanth delivery to Dhoni, fielders appealed, umpire shook his head in negative. But guess what happened? Gilchrist had already began walking. He knew he was out and he did not even bother to look at the umpire. The entire Indian team celebrated, but with due respect to the man who just raised the level of cricket to the highest level. Australia were 33/1 in 4 overs when rain stopped play again.

Unlike Pathan who clearly edged one through to Gilchrist but did not walk. Only one team was playing cricket in the spirit of the game.
It's not nothing to do with the spirit of the game. Gilchrist is an exception in world cricket. Otherwise, look at Michael Clarke, Ricky Ponting and other Aussies. They use all unfair means to win the game. Gilchrist is regarded at a high esteem, not because he is an Australian, but for his high sportsmanship. That's why Indian team did not celebrate at Adelaide when he was dismissed for the last time in his test career and gave him a farewell with respect. Hope that helps!!!
They use all "unfair" means to win the game......????
Like sacking umpires when the call doesn't go your way, oh no, wait that was India. Would have been less petulant to just burn another effigy.
