Dhoni in trouble over Gloves, gets support from Healy
Former Australian wicketkeeper Ian Healy received support from former Australian wicketkeeper Ian Healy over the gloves controversy. It could be recalled that Dhoni's gloves were confiscated by match referee Jeff Crowe after television footage showed the webbing was illegal. TV images of Dhoni's gloves showed an unnatural cupping in the webbing. The law requires that webbing shouldn't go beyond the length of the thumb and the index finger. The International Cricket Council last night endorsed match referee's stance, but Dhoni escaped a fine or ban, as he promised not to wear those gloves again. Former Australian wicketkeeper Ian Healy defended Dhoni, saying the glove manufacturer was to blame for the unfortunate incident. He also said that Dhoni had been interchanging his gloves throughout the test summer, but nobody noticed it. Even Dhoni was unaware of any such rules. The players always use the accessories provided by the manufacturers. They should be held responsible for manufacturers' goof-up.
