Australia registers easy win over Sri Lanka, Gilchrist scores century

Adam Gilchrist powered Australia to a 63-run win over Sri Lanka in the Commonwealth Bank tri-series. Gilchrist scored his 16th ODI hundred in his last match on the home ground (Perth). Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. The World Chamipons posted 236 in 49.4 overs. Adama Gilchrist scored 118, while Clarke contributed 43. For Sri Lanka, Malinga took 3 wickets.

Sri Lanka began the run chase on a disastrous note. They lost Jayasuriya and Dilshan cheaply. Barring Sangakara, no other Sri Lankan batsman could offer any resistance. He scored 80. Sri Lanka bowled out for 173 in 45.3 overs. For Australia, Bracken and Johnson took 3 wickets each. Adam Gilchrist was declared "Man of the Match".
