Sehwag stakes claim with a blazing century, Karthik out on 97

Virender Sehwag hit a blistering 73-ball century against the ACT Invitational XI to stake his claim for a place in Indian team for the Perth test. With Yuvraj failing miserably in test matches and tour games, Sehwag is all set to return to the team. Sehwag hammered 18 fours and two sixes during his knock of 113. Dinesh Karthik too batted well to score 97 and strengthened his case for a selection in the team.

Earlier, ACT XI declared their first innings on 292/8 in reply to India's 325/9 declared. For the home team, John Rogers scored 98, while Chris Rogers contributed 60. India were 241/3 when reports last came in.
