Sachin Tendulkar gets Padma Vibhushan
The master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has been chosen for the coveted "Padma Vibhushan" award for his spectacular performance in cricket and the contribution he has made for Indian cricket. The 34 year old Tendulkar has shown superb form in the ongoing test series against Australia and scored two centuries (more than 150) and two half century so far.Sachin Tendulkar had received the Arjuna Award in 1994 and the Padma Shri in 1999. He was given the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 1998. He was also chosen as the Wisden cricketer of the year in 1997. In addition, 'Time' magazine named him in November 2006 as one of the Asian heroes.
