Ponting's infamous catch in Sydney Test

Here's the video recording of the catch, which questions Australian skipper Ricky Ponting's integrity. He took Dhoni's catch off his pad, dropped it to the ground, then kept appealing. Shame! Shame!

Well we definitely question Ponting's integrity here.....how can you possibly appeal after grounding a catch????....Doesnt this shows the captain's insecurity & his irrational methods to win the game by hook or crook...?

The ball ran up the pad a little and went very close to coming off the glove. When I first saw it I thought it was out. Ponting was close to the action, but the ball didn't move in slow motion - for all he knew it might have been gloved. He caught the ball, appealed, and was turned down (the right decision on replay). Get over it guys.

Here is the question is not if the ball touched the gloves or pads. We appreciate Ponting took a stunning catch. But he clearly grounded it. It wasn't a catch. When Ponting appealed again and again after grounded it, the Commentators felt he was appealing for a LBW. Should he have done that????

How can you appeal for a catch when you yourself dropped the ball to the ground after catching it? It's just ridiculous. Perhaps, Ponting wanted to book this stunning "catch" on his name, as he put a lot of efforts to get to the ball.

I can't remember much fuss over this and at least Ponting had control of the ball.
