India not to lodge formal complaint against Umpiring
The Indian team management decided not to lodge any formal complaint against the poor umpiring. The initial reports suggested that BCCI had asked the Indian team management to report the matter to the ICC. However, later the team management decided against it. It expressed regret over the state of umpiring and feared that it could cost India badly. It could be recalled that on-field umpires Steve Buckner and Mark Robinson as well as the third umpire had ruled Symonds not out at least thrice while the TV replays proved otherwise. Ricky Ponting was given not out when he nicked the ball. He was batting on 17 at that time. Later, he was given out LBW on 55, when replays showed that he edged the ball before it touched his pads.
