Delhi wins Ranji Trophy

Despite playing without its key players Virender Sehwag and Ishant Sharma, Delhi registered a remarkable victory in the Ranji Trophy final against Uttar Pradesh at Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. Delhi's Pradeep Sangwan claimed 5 wickets in the second innings, which helped his team to chase a modest target of 230 runs to win the match.

Gautam Gambhir's unbeaten 130 dashed Uttar Pradesh's hope further, as Delhi won the title match by 9 wickets. It was Delhi's 7th Ranji Trophy title.

Scores:

Uttar Pradesh: 342 ad 177
Delhi: 290 and 230/1
