Adam Gilchrist announces retirement from Test Cricket
In a sensational development, Australian wicket keeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist announced retirement from test cricket. The ongoing test between India and Australia at Adelaide will be the last test match of his career. The latest report suggests that Gilchrist would retire from ODI cricket too after the triangular series involving India, Australia and Sri Lanka. However, we could not establish the veracity of the report.Adam Gilchrist holds the world record of maximum dismissals in test cricket by a wicketkeeper with 414 (377 catches + 37 stumpings) dismissals. Anil Kumble became his 414th victim in the first innings of Adelaide test. Gilchrist had made his test debut in November 1999. Gilchrist has played 95 tests so far. He has also scored 17 centuries.
