BCCI held Press Conference on Vengsarkar Issue

BCCI President Sharad Pawar held a Press Conference on Vengsarkar issue that has snowballed into a major controversy in Indian cricket in the past few days. While he hailed Vengsarkar for his contribution to Indian cricket, he made it clear that all rules were meant to be adhered to and apply to all selectors.

According to Pawar, rules cannot be changed to suit any individual. He expressed confidence that Vengsarkar would attend the selection meeting to be held in Bangalore on Dec 5. He also ruled out any move to replace Vengsarkar until the board meeting on December 16. BCCI sources said that board is contemplating plans to offer some sort of compensation to the selectors who used to write columns for newspapers.
