Indian batsmen failed to counter the Australian bowling attack, as the entire team bowled out for 196. Sachin Tendulkar scored 62, while Ganguly scored 43, playing his 100th test. For Australia, Clarke and Lee took 4 wickets each. Australia were 32 for no loss at stumps.
