India wins Delhi Test
India won the first test match in Delhi by 6 wickets. Chasing a victory target of 203, India achieved the target losing 4 wickets. Saurav Ganguly failed to add any more runs to his total and perished on 48 to Shoaib Akhtar who claimed all four wickets in Indian innings. However, Sachin Tendulkar scored another half century to take India to an easy victory. Sachin remained unbeaten on 56. Anil Kumble was declared "Man of the Match" for a match haul of 7 wickets.
