India in Command in Kolkata Test
An injury-hit Pakistani team struggled to make any impact in the second test match in Kolkata, as Indian batsmen made merry of a mediocre Pakistani bowling attack. Nothing went well for Pakistan from the very beginning, while fortune smiled on India throughout the first day. Pakistan went to Kolkata test without injured skipper Shoaib Malik and with unfit Shoaib Akhtar, who could bowl only 9 overs in the day. Sami too did not look fit enough.India won the toss and elected to bat first. Pakistan removed Dinish Karthik in the very first over. However, that was the last time they could laugh. Wasim Jaffer, Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar produced great knocks to build the Indian innings. Wasim Jaffer played a majestic knock. He remained unbeaten on 192 at the end of the day. Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar scored 50 and 82 respectively. India finished the day at 352/3.
