Greg Chappell accuses BCCI of cover-up

Former Indian coach Greg Chappell accused the BCCI of racist attitude, citing the example of the attack on him at Bhuabneswar Airport. He believes he was the victim of a racist attack. Chappell hit out at the Indian board and police for playing down a serious breach of security in January 2007, when he was attacked by a guy called Biranchi Moharana.

Chappell said, "I got hit on the side of the head and my immediate reaction was 'he's broken my jaw'." Chappell's interview would be screened in a documentary on ABC Channel. He added, "had it been one of the players who was attacked there would have been an outcry, but because it was me no-one seemed to care." He also felt hurt when someone from the BCCI called him up and asked whether it really happened. Chappell was quite sure everyone went in a cover-up mood and to bury the issue.
