BCCI issues show cause notice to Vengsarkar

The ongoing tussle between the BCCI and selectors took an ugly turn with BCCI issuing a show cause notice to Chief Selector Dilip Vengsarkar for defying its gag order. The BCCI made it clear to Vengsarkar that he could quit the job if he wanted to continue as a columnist.

Earlier, it was believed that Vengsarkar bowed under pressure from the BCCI and stopped writing on newspaper columns. However, his columns appeared in a Hindi daily 'Amar Ujala' and Marathi paper 'Sakal' on Thursday. That prompted the BCCI to take a tough stand on this issue.
