Shoaib Akhtar to join IPL

Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar is all set to join to Indian Premier League (IPL). He has sought permission from PCB in this regard. According to Shoaib, he has been approached by the IPL and agreed to play for them. However, it is necessary to get consent from the PCB to sign contract with any other league.

Akhtar faces disciplinary action for hitting teammate Mohammad Asif with a bat a few days before the Twenty20 World Cup. He was sent back from South Africa as a punishment. A three-member committee is probing the matter and it would announce the verdict soon.
