Twenty20 Shocker for Australia and West Indies
Australia may be the undisputed champion in Test and ODI, but it may not repeat the same glory in Twenty20. The minnows Zimbabwe shocked the mighty Australia in a Twenty20 league match. Australia won the toss and decided to bat but were restricted to just 138-9 from their 20 overs. Andrew Symonds made 33, while Brad Hodge remained unbeaten on 35. Zimbabwe fought until the last over to pull off a shocking 5 wickets win just one ball to spare. Brendon Taylor led the charge with an unbeaten 60. It was a game Zimbabwe will remember for long.Another shocker came for West Indies, as they were eliminated from Twenty20 WC, after being beaten by Bangladesh. Bangladesh not only won the match by 6 wickets, but also advanced into the next round. Bangladesh restricted West Indies to 164 for eight in 20 overs. For West Indies, Shivnaraine Chanderpaul (37) and Devon Smith (51) kept the scoreboard ticking. Dwayne Smith and Marlon Samuels made 29 and 27 respectively. In reply, Bangladesh reached the target with 2 overs to spare. Skipper Mohammad Ashraful made 61, while Aftab Ahmed made 62.
