Twenty20: Pakistan beat Sri Lanka

Pakistan stopped Jayasuriya and Sri Lanka in the Twenty20 World Cup. They beat Sri Lanka by 33 runs. Pakistan relied on some good batting performances by Younis Khan and Shoaib Malik to score 189/6 in 20 overs. Shoaib Malik scored 57, while Younis Khan contributed 51. Sanath Jayasuriya conceded a record 64 runs from his four overs.

In reply, Sri Lanka lost quick wickets early that included the wicket of Sanath Jayasuriya. Skipper Jayawardene made 28. Chamara Silva and Tilkaratne Dilshan contributed 38 each. However, Sri Lanka could manage 156/9 in 20 overs and lost the match by 33 runs.
