Ravi Shastri to head NCA

Ravi Shastri will be the Chairman of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). It became official after he accepted BCCI's offer. Shastri is likely to visit the NCA facility and meet Brijesh Patel, Secretary, Karnataka State Cricket Association. The top post of the NCA fell vacant after Kapil Dev was fired following his association with the Zee-sponsored ICL.

Shastri was India's cricket manager in Bangladesh after the exit of Greg Chappell. However, he did not continue in the job becayse of his media committments. The BCCI is willing to provide Shastri the choice to draw his own timetable to work in Bangalore and give time to the trainees there.
