Kangaroos beaten, India in the Final of Twenty20 WC

India dashed Australia's hope of winning the Twenty20 World Cup. A spirited Team India entered the final of the Twenty20 WC by beating Australia by 15 runs in the semifinal match. Chasing a victory target of 189, Australian batsmen started well, built the innings throughout, however, lost their nerves in the final lovers to lose the match.

Australia finished at 173/7 in 20 overs. Matthew Hayden scored 62 off 47 balls. Andrew Symonds made 43 off 26 balls, while Gilchrist contributed 22 runs. S Sreesanth was the pick of the bowlers, who took 2/12 in 4 overs. Yuvraj Singh was declared "Man of the Match". India will meet arch-rivals Pakistan in the final on Monday.
