India celebrates the Twenty20 World Cup Victory

India is celebrating with joy and pride. The country now waits for its heroes to return from South Africa with the cup of glory in their hands. The BCCI had already announced Rs. 4 Crore for Team India for reaching the final. It now announced an additional $2 Million (Rs. 8 Crore).

The BCCI has also given a special prize of Rs. 1 Crore to Yuvraj for his spectacular performance in the tournament. In addition, the support staff will receive Rs. 15 Lakhs each.

Lalit Modi, Vice President of BCCI, has announced to gift a sports car to Yuvraj Singh on his personal capacity. The Karnataka Government has announced Rs. 5 Lakhs each for Robin Uthappa and Venkatesh Prasad. Maharashtra Government has announced Rs. 10 Lakhs each for Ajit Agarkar and Rohit Sharma. The Jharkhand Government has bestowed the first "Jharkhand Ratna" award on Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

The Prime Minister, President, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, BCCI President Sharad Pawar and many others former and current cricketers including Kapil Dev, Madan Lal, Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly and Zaheer Khan congratulated the team. Bollywood Superstar Shahrukh Khan, who was present at the stadium with his son, celebrated, hugged the Indian players and congratulated them. There is no doubt that a grand welcome awaits for Team India when they return with the Twenty20 World Cup.
