Australia, Pakistan reach Semifinals
Australia beat Sri Lanka to reach the semifinals of the Twenty20 World Cup. The Aussies thrashed the Lankans by 10 wickets. Put into bat, Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 101, thanks to Stuart Clark's 4/20. Mubarak top-scored with 28. In reply, Australia batted superbly to reach the target in just 10.2 overs without losing any wicket. Hayden scored an unbeaten 58, while Gilchrist remained not out on 31.
In another match, Pakistan beat their Asian rivals Bangladesh by 4 wickets to reach the semifinals. Bangladesh were bowled out for 140 in 19.4 overs. Junaid Siddique scored a fine 71 off 49 balls. Pakistan reached the target in 19 overs by losing 6 wickets. Shahid Afridi top-scored with 39 off 15 balls. Imran Nazir made 27, while Hafeez contributed 23.
